Sunset at
Srirangapatna' captures the 'real' Tipu Sultan
Former minister's book seeks to demolish the myth that the warrior king was
religious bigot.
Bangalore
It is not often that a politician writes a book. It is even less often that a politician
studies Geology in college and then writes a book on History. It is still less often that
the book thus written gets the pride of place as a 'source book' for History scholars.
Former minister Mohammad Moeinuddin is one such politician and the
300-page "Sunset at Srirangapatna" is one such book.
The book, to be published shortly by Orient Longman, seeks to demolish what Mr Moeinuddin
calls the myth that Tipu was a religious bigot.
